The Blog of Parliament
Welcome to the Parliament, my friends!
Here you will find a smorgasboard of ideas, historical references, jokes and creative tips.
You see, I don’t believe it’s a coincidence that steampunk arose at the beginning of the technological revolution. It has enabled the general public to explore the past in a way that would never have been possible before. This is a time for us to study ourselves and take stock of what we have accomplished and what we have forgotten. We are discovering that many trusted historical narratives have been woefully biased, wildly inaccurate and in some cases completely fictional. We are beginning to understand that the habits and opinions of today are direct results of those past. We are beginning to understand our connection to other cultures and our relationship with the world via a detailed understanding of our intertwining histories.
So the Parliament Blog was created to explore the forgotten parts of ourselves. It was meant to think about how to move forward with the best traditions of yesterday and the best ideas of the present. Some of it will make you laugh, (and some of it, I daresay may make you cry), but all of it will encourage you to think, to imagine, to debate and to create. Because whether we realize it or not, we are all contributing to tomorrow’s history.
What will we make together?
